What used to be mainly the keeping of fish in glass tanks is now an innovative hobby that combines high-tech, design and the experience of nature. Two trends are particularly shaping the scene: AI-supported aquarium control and the creative design of aquascapes. Both topics symbolise the future of the hobby, a symbiosis of intelligent technology and natural beauty. Smart aquarium controls allow lighting, heating, CO\u2082 supply and feeding to be controlled via an app or voice control. But the next stage of development goes even further: artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does that mean exactly?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Automated feeding:<\/strong> AI uses cameras to detect fish activity and dynamically adjusts the amount of feed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Real-time water parameters:<\/strong> Sensors monitor pH value, temperature, nitrate or oxygen content. AI intervenes before critical fluctuations occur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Disease prevention:<\/strong> Image analysis systems can detect early symptoms such as discolouration or unusual swimming behaviour and alert the aquarium owner in good time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Energy efficiency:<\/strong> AI adjusts lighting and temperature control to the time of day and seasonal cycles, which is good for the environment and your wallet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal: a stable ecosystem that is almost self-regulating. The aquarist is transformed from a mere caretaker to the curator of an intelligent mini-biotope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Aquascaping_underwater_landscapes_as_an_art_form\"><\/span>Aquascaping: underwater landscapes as an art form<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parallel to technical progress, a creative movement is booming: aquascaping. Here, the focus is not on the fish, but on the design of the underwater landscape.
